Comments : First of all, do not believe the 100% satisfaction guarantee posted on thier home page. They will not honor it. The following is an actual quote from them reguarding the guarantee:

"That statement you quote on the guarantee is not part of any legal agreement"

Read their usage policy closely. It negates the satisfaction guarantee.

I wanted to publish my application with them considering I had hosted with them in 2002 when support was good, and I could always get someone on the phone. It certainly isn't that way any more. You can never get anyone on the phone and will be lucky to have tech support contact you via email in a timely manner. And, when I say timely, it can be days.

Also, do not think you can deploy Jee applications in their shared environment that use common industry frameworks. When they advertised "shared environment" they mean shared Jvm, not just shared hardware. Therefore, you are sharing memory space with other companies. One misbehaved application can take the entire Jvm down. Therefore, you are at the mercy of other (who knows who) to write behaved apps to ensure the stability of your app. In their user agreement it states that you can not deploy Spring or Hibernate into their shared environment. They expect developers to micro-manage their result sets, clean up their own connections, and manage transactions. The only developers that I know that still write code that way are rookies.

Unfortunately, my wife signed us up; having no idea what Spring and Hibernate are. Considering that my app depends upon these common frameworks I was unknowingly out of compliance with their no Spring, no Hibernate policy.

When I discovered this I called and called their sales department in an attempt to upgrade to an account without a shared Jvm. This was on a Friday. Their tech support finally sent me an email stating that "sales was at an event". Thats correct folks ... all of sales was at an event!!! I attempted to have tech support help me with this issue. "Sales is at an event", was the only help they could provide. After many attempt to get their help without response I secured another hosting company on Saturday. They provided the expected virtual Linux environment where I could run my own Jvm. Long story short ... I had my app up and running with the new hosting company and still no reply from javaservlethosting's tech support (btw getNetworks and javaservlethosting are the same company).

Anyway, I no longer need their service of which I paid an entire year for. And, they are refusing to honor their money back guarantee. Stay Away From This Company !!!!
